A really sweet Christian read. One of the best short stories I’ve read. Mary’s faith wins out over the judgement of a whole town.
From the living in the lowest and barely finding a place to lay a head to being accepted as a person later in life, Mary trusted God. Life can deal one a rough blow but when one relies on the Father, there is success. A women in a man's world where everything was judged by it's cover instead of trying to figure out what really is going on, glances and words of disrespect only fuelled her desire to succeed.
Her past of fighting for her next meal were relieved. She found love and acceptance for her God given talent.
I thought this was a very sweet quick read. I found it interesting and felt it was well written. The subject matter of women working, massage and a little about aromatherapy was not excepted at that time. I thought it was done well and would recommend it.
Even in the 2000 - 2018 years massage therapy is often misunderstood by some. This story reminds me how many struggles my own daughter went through with some of her clients.
This book is very well written and I was pleased by the lack of mistakes.
We are told to love one another but the church folk have the most difficulty with this mandate. Sometimes we are worse than the world. No wonder so many non-believers shy away from the church. A lot of us are hypocrites but Mary loved even when others didn't show that love for her.
Such a delightful clean sweet Western Story. Of a girl abandoned in childhood, eating out of garbage cans, taken in by someone quite helpful, but not much better living conditions, teaches her about a healing technique to use with her hands, but it's all taboo in this society. So how is a single young woman to make a life when her caretaker dies?
